Privacy policy
A short privacy policy, because there is little to tell.
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from third-party servers. Last updated 13 August 2026.
Who is responsible
Stichting United Academics Foundation, Mauritskade 63, 1092 AD Amsterdam, The Netherlands, is the controller for any personal data processed through this website. You can reach us at info@united-academics.org or on +31 (0)6 22 97 52 09.
Cookies and tracking
This site places no cookies and contains no analytics, advertising or social media trackers. Fonts and styles are served from our own server, so visiting a page sends no request to any external party and builds no profile of you.
Server logs
Our web server keeps standard access logs. These record the IP address of the visiting device, the time of the request, the page requested and the browser’s user agent string. We use these logs only to keep the site running securely and to diagnose technical problems. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security and availability of the website. Logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted, and they are not combined with any other data or used to identify individual visitors.
If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it and whatever you choose to put in the message. We use that only to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence, and we keep it no longer than needed for that purpose. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list, and we never sell or share contact details.
Donations
Donations reach us by bank transfer. The details of a transfer are processed by our bank and appear in our accounts, where we are required to retain them for the statutory period under Dutch tax and accounting law. There is no payment provider involved and no donation form on this site, so no payment details are ever entered here or passed to a third party.
If you enter into a periodic gift agreement with us, we hold a signed copy containing your name, address, date of birth and citizen service number (BSN) — the details the Belastingdienst requires on that form. We use it for no other purpose, keep it for as long as the agreement runs plus the statutory retention period, and share it with nobody except the tax authority if they ask for it.
Links to other sites
This site links to projects and organisations we work with, including United Academics Magazine. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this one does not apply to them.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. Write to info@united-academics.org and we will respond within one month. If you believe we are handling your data improperly, you are entitled to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Changes
If the way this website handles data changes — for example if a contact form or newsletter is added later — this policy will be updated before that change goes live, and the date at the top will reflect it.
